Art as Worship interview of c.quill bowers
March 3, 2012
Poet and photographer c.quill bowers was interviewed on Art as Worship radio. She says, “A book featuring my poetry and photography was recently published and is titled Lyrical Space. The word lyrical means rapturously. When I’m in nature, I’m just enthralled and enraptured. Stories and poems flow to me and I get into the flow.”
c.quill goes on to say, “When you’re hiking, you don’t know what you’re going to find. You just follow this path. I think that’s the way it is in life. You just follow this path. Maybe that’s the spiritual aspect for me — that life is a journey. You don’t know what’s going to come up next.”
Lyrical Space has been nominated for the 2012 Georgia Author of the Year award in the Poetry category.
The Georgia Author of the Year Awards (GAYA) have the distinction of being the oldest literary awards in the Southeastern United States while reflecting the current publishing world. The Awards have grown in prestige and participation since its inception in 1964 by the Dixie Council of Authors and Journalists. The GAYA changed hands in 1990 to Georgia Writers Association and in 2006 GWA began a strong affiliation with Kennesaw State University’s Department of Humanities.
